From the Charleston of the 1920s Gatsby era through the beautiful classic songs of the 1930s, to swing and jazz hits, Michael Law's Piccadilly Dance Orchestra, performs the greatest dance music and the best tunes of the Jazz Age.
2018 marks the orchestra's 30th Anniversary and we are celebrating with an exciting series of concert and dance performances and a new CD 'Are You Havin' Any Fun?', which is now available here.
THIS SATURDAY (20th October, at 7.30pm) is our 30th Anniversary Gala Concert!
In response to popular demand, there will now be some space for dancing, but please note as it’s mainly a CONCERT performance, we won’t be playing modern Ballroom or Latin dance music (as we would for a dance event) but you are welcome to dance to the 1920s/30s tunes we’ll be playing, i.e. Quickstep, Charleston, Jive, Waltz (one), Lindy & Slow foxtrot.
'It was a wonderfully entertaining evening - thank you. As you know, I’ve always thought the PDO were brilliant - but you all seem to get better and better. And you seem to be constantly expanding the repertoire . . . with some great new tunes...there wasn’t anything that was less than exceptional all evening.'
